For these final outcomes I used photoshop to change the colour to black and white and then I added a vignette effect to make the main focus on the centre of the image. My aim was to make the image gloomy and dull. I then added different colour transparent boxes and placed the in random places which combined light a dark. I thought this technique was very effective and it worked really well.

William Eggleston
This is a photograph by photographer William Eggleston who was born in Memphis and raised in Sumner. My first initial reaction to this image was that it looked very retro and vintage. I think this image has a meaning behind it as the tricycle is the main subject of the image therefore it must have some sort of significance. My first initial thought was that a child may of fallen off and the camera is from the child's point of view who is on the floor looking up at it, the sky is very grey and dull which could indicate a negative meaning which relates back to the child falling off. My second initial thought was that Eggleston was aiming at showing how significant the tricycle was a few years ago and it was a big part of everyones life growing up. Another thought that came to mind after analysing the image was that the tricycle has been left there for many years as there is a lot of rust on it. The people from this time of year could have passed away and this was all that was left.
The photograph is captured from a low angle and is a close up of a tricycle. This is a good choice of technique as it makes the audience concentrate on one specific part of the image which is most important. The background also plays a significant role in this photograph as it sets the scene and helps to understand what the meaning behind it is. The low houses and style of car you can see in the background make it obvious this picture was taken or meant to appear as if it was in the 70's. I admire the vintage look of the photograph as it feels like a sort of memory. The overall arrangement of the image is appealing and well put together as it sticks with the content and the angle used is very effective. To me it looks very pleasing.
I think the photograph looks spontaneous as there is not much to plan out in the image and you could easily find a tricycle on the pavement in front of a house. The angle and meaning behind it is not spontaneous as he could of just casually captured a normal photograph of this tricycle, but it looks like he has put thought into the time of day he captured it also to set the right kind of scene and feel. I think he has used a digital camera but has edited it and used a vintage effect and played around the contrast and the brightness.
This image creates a kind of reminiscent effect and brings back memories of pictures I've seen from my parents growing up. I think that the artist was trying to bring the audience back and make us have a feel of what his past was like and how he grew up. This piece had an effect on me and made me feel like I have a sense of what it was like in the 70's and what kind of things children use to do as they were growing up.

Photographs
These are the photographs before I edited them. I captured a load of random images related to my theme so that I had a range of images to work with and edit. They varied from portraits to random object. Some of them were close ups of things I wanted to get in full detail. I applied the vignette effect to a few of these images above to experiment and see how they would turn out, I was happy with the results and then decided to use the effect on all of my final outcomes.

Tim Sklyarov
Tim Sklyarov is a graphic designer from New york America. The theme of these images are seeing New York from how Tim Sklyarov does on his road bike, it is mainly point of view photography. My first initial reaction to this work was that the way it made me feel that it was me on the bike riding through the city was amazing and a really good technique. I think the main focus he was aiming at was to get the audience to see the things from a different perspective and different angle instead of giving the image a meaning behind it. I think another theme these images were based on is Journeys as they make you feel as if you are on a Journey yourself.
The photographs are captured from the eye level of the photographer and are in a sort of wide angle view. I like the way he has included the handle bars in the shot also with his hands so its as if we are looking through his actual eyes rather than a camera. The background in these images are more or less the main subjects as that is what the main focus is on. Each photo has a different scene, some consist of busy streets with lights and others consist of more urban shots of new york. There are some cars around as well which gives a sense of danger also as such big vehicles feel at reaching distance, there is also a large fire truck. Throughout each image the sky also changes which indicates the time of day changing which relates back to the theme of Journeys. I admire the overall arrangement of the images and the techniques used, I like the way they give you an insight to seeing things from a different perspective is like.
I like these photographs were planned and spontaneous at the same time. Each image is random and the photographer cannot see through the camera or choose what to take pictures of. It is also planned because strapping a camera to his helmet indicates there was some planning involved to come out with such good photographs. The artist seems like he is trying to give the audience a feel of what it is like from his eyes and also have a feel of what the road bike life and life in new york city is like.
These images create an exciting effect and gives me an insight on what he sees when he is out on the road on his bike. He succeeded in drawing me in to the photographs and inspiring me in trying to experiment by captured some of my own point of view photographs and using the technique he has used. I especially admire the feeling he gives the audience from these images and how simple yet effective this technique is.

Experimentation
For this photograph I created a vintage effect to make it look kind of old school and retro. My aim was make it look contrasty and dim at the same time. The photograph is based on what children see through their own eyes.
Photographs
These are a random series of photograph I tried to capture from a child point of view. These were all taken when I went on holiday to Tenerife. My aim was to capture low angle shots and shots from a child's eye level. I used my younger brother in these shots and captured photographs of things he would usually look at. This was the starting point of my ideas. I also captured photographs from inside of a car and also from someones point of view who was climbing a mountain.
