Final Evaluation

The theme for this exam project was meetings, encounters and experiences. We were required to complete an introduction project called 'Life cycles' which we had to capture photographs and then they would get submitted into a competition. For this project I photographed pictures of Landscape, snow, plant life, and families.

For the main exam project we were required to complete a number of tasks such as in depth analysis', research into different photographers that inspired us, a number of mind maps, initial idea's and developments. I created a mind map for my initial idea outcomes, I then narrowed it down and chose from   two ideas. I then had to develop them into a final piece. I captured images at family events which represented meeting and experiences which related to the exam theme, my aim was to gather as many images as possible from all different events and environments so that I had a wide range of material to work with in the exam.

The artist that inspired me was Andy Potts, I completed an analysis on him and his work and his pieces of work that I liked best. I came up with my outcome idea's from researching into his illustrations and relating my work work around his, most of his pieces were urban based which also my final outcomes were based on urban life. I captured images of BMX riders performing stunts in an urban skate park, I then used these in my final pieces.

Towards the end of the project we were required to complete mock ups of what we were planning to do in the exam so that we were confident and knew how and what we were going to be doing. I completed a number of digital and handmade experimentation which prepared for the exam in helping know how I was going to achieve my outcomes.

I am pleased with the work I have produced but there is always room for improvement, I could have completed more experimentation with different hand made techniques and also took more photographs of different environments to be more adventurous in my work.
