The brief for this project was very flexible as I was allowed to create and photograph anything I chose. I chose to relate it to documentary which was my original theme and I brainstormed a load of different ideas.
For this project I decided to base my outcomes around documenting people and objects. My aim was to capture high focused images and then to edit them and use various techniques on them. I used various locations to capture my photographs such as indoor places and outdoors. I wanted to have a range of different photographs so that I had a random mixture I could work with.
My first initial ideas were photographing different points of view such as from a child's point of view, an animals point of view, a cyclist or someone just walking down the street. I did some test shoots with these ideas and developed them. I researched into a photographer called Tim Sklyarov who specialised in this kind of photography. I started off with capturing photographs from a child's point of view which consisted of shots from low angles and of things a child would see on a day to day basis.
I then wanted to have another main idea so i had a second one if the first one didn't go to plain which was documenting people and random objects. I started off with a photo shoot of people and focusing on objects from different angles. After i edited the pictures I then realised that I wanted to make this my main idea so I then developed it and focused on this idea mostly. I looked into a photographer called Vasilisa Forbes who uses coloured shapes on top of an image which I thought was interesting and inspiring so I gave it a try. I then loved the technique and started to create some of my own.
Throughout the course I had my ups and down such as not being able to choose one main idea, being unsuccessful with shooting a full, good quality roll of film but I then found my final idea and stuck to it which got me the outcomes that I am very proud of. For my outcome I decided to keep it simple and mount the pictures so they can focused on and looked as individual pictures. I learnt a lot of new skills and techniques during this project and feel at an advantage in future projects.
